Instagram: Activate Two Factor Authentication

Two-factor authentication is a security feature that helps you to protect your Instagram account. If you have turned on two factor authentication you will be asked to enter a recovery code that has been given to you at the time of activating two factor authentication.If you want to activate two factor authentication you have to follow below given steps:-

1 Go To Profile

To activate two-fector authentication first login into your Instagram account and then click on your profile Picture given at bottom right corner of the screen.

2 Tap On Three Lines

On your profile page tap on three line given on top right corner.

3 Tap On Settings

After taping on three lines you will be asked to choose an operation you need to tap on Settings option given at bottom of the page.

4 Select Security

Under settings you will find a bunch of operations select Security.

5 Select Two-factor authentication

Under security tap on Two-Factor Authentication.

6 Tap On Get Started

Intagram will tell you the benefit about two step authentication and will ask you to continue tap on Get Started.

7 Tap On Text Message

You wil be asked to choose your security method enable text message to receive otp on your mobile phone.

8 Enter Six Digit Code

You will received a six digit code on your phone, enter the code and tap on next.

9 Tap On Done

The two-factor verification is done, click on done.

10 Save Recovery Codes

After taping on done you will be directed to recovery codes page, you will get five codes take a screen shot of the codes and save them in a safe place.
